Follow Friday #27: Summer Brights

Happy Fri-YAY! How has your week been? I am so happy it is Friday, because I am so ready for the weekend! Both my girls are getting bit by the DIY bug. Both of them were being super cute and silly last night, making clay charms that look like macarons, that I think we'll start painting Katelyn's dresser this weekend! Sneak peek pics to come!

For Follow Fridays from now on, I will be featuring 4 different blogs, one cooking/baking, one gardening, one décor/style, and one crafting.

She is the "Queen of Vignettes"! Seriously, she wowed me with her use of color like no one I've seen before. She gives some amazing tips on her vignette styling essentials.

What pretty serving trays these make, and real budget friendly! A visit to her website and I not only wanted to bake macarons, but all the color she creates with really made me smile!

How beautiful are these flowers! As I read her blog, I felt like I was touring a whimsical, enchanted garden! She shares not only great gardening advice, but fun and creative DIYs for both the garden and home!

Sprinkle Bakes

Under this gorgeously painted watercolor fondant is a 4 layer Chocolate Butter cake! I want a slice of this with my coffee for breakfast ! Her baking and desserts are truly works of art!

A Week in CASL photos: June 1- June 7

Happy Monday!  I am glad you stopped by to visit me today! Hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend! It was a fun birthday weekend around here! The girls baked cupcakes, while I was busy in the kitchen. Lindsay gave her grandmother the stepping stone she made. I didn't get a chance to get a picture, but if they say a picture is worth a thousand words, Oh My! I love that her and my oldest daughter are so artistic and creative, because Lindsay not only painted the stone with all these bright colors, she even gave her handprint finger nails as she painted them this peacock green color! I'll be sure and get a picture next time I visit my mother in law!

What I like about doing a Photo365, is that I get to share with you a peek into what my week has been like, and possibly a sneak peek to what next week will bring. I've tried 365 Photo or Daily photo memes several times before, and surprisingly, I am getting farther posting my photos once a week, instead of once a day. It makes a big difference, and it's really nice to look back and see a slice of my day!

June 1- Many...Too many Sprinkles *never* If you like Ice Cream, be sure to check out my Giveaway going on until June 15, and my Ice Cream Social going on for the month of June.

June 2- Starts with B- Almost Brunch...Blackberries and Bananas in a blue bowl!

June 3-Looking Up- I love looking up in the sky to see the moon against a blue sky!

June 4-Looking down...My very first Peonies..I am swooning!!So Pretty, love it! Found them at Trader Joes!

June 5th- About Me...Me, my husband, my children, and the things I love, mostly coastal, seashells, tropical colors, and turquoise ocean waves. The almost completed gallery wall, just missing one more photo!

June 6th- Silly- This past weekend, for the birthday party, my husband and sister in law, decided to recreate an old photo.

June 7th- Forgotten...While at the party we were all reminiscing over old photos. We found this one, of me and my husband going to prom. My sister in law was asking me to find pictures of my husband with hair, or as she called them 'hair photos'. I forgot this year marked 25 years, since prom, and graduation. We admit it, but almost forget what my husband looked like with hair, and for the life of all of us, we couldn't remember who's white car was in the driveway!

Are you on Instagram? You really should be!!  You can find me here on Instagram

I recently started following a photo a day prompt on #fmsphotoaday.
Let me know if you decide to join in the fun!

Have a great rest of your week! Until next time!
xo, Christine

Pretty in Light Pink

Happy Day before Friday!! This week has been really interesting so far. With this being the last week of school before Spring break, my children already got a  half day on Wednesday, and then they will get another half day on Friday. We spent the other half of yesterday at the dentist. As for plans for the weekend, we still haven't decided on visiting my family up North in Prescott, visiting family in California (which most likely we won't go until Summertime), or spending the weekend in Vegas. I've made great progress on my accent table. Forget the sander, it was taking to long, with all the layers of paint it had on it! I just primed it, and have it painted. Now, I just need to coat it with a clear lacquer to give it some shine!

When it comes to my favorite colors, shades of blue, aqua and turquoise make the top. Then why am I posting about "Pretty in Pink", you may ask. For me, I think of pink as girly. When really for me pink is romantic, dreamy and enchanting! For today's post, I thought I'd share ways to decorate with light pink, without having the feeling of standing in a bright pepto-bismol pink room! Something classy, subtle and still be pink and pretty!

I absolutely love the French antique textiles of this room Designed by David Hare, who specializes in 18th Century French decoration.

These glasses are the perfect shade of blush pink with a vintage feel!
Fleur-De-Lys Juice glasses by Anthropologie

Living in the Southwest, I am loving the color combination of the blue agaves, the white walls, with this rose pink door. Reminds me of our gorgeous sunsets.

Doesn't this room feel cozy and warm? I love the color combination of the pillow, pale blue and pink! The decorated mantle and the pops of pink roses add just the perfect touch!

Love the crystal knobs and the light pink color of the dresser. Not really liking the lamp shade, but the dresser goes well with the gold mirror and the shabby chic white painted chairs.

Last but not least, one item in my home that I wouldn't care what color or shade of pink it was would be a Kitchen Aid mixer. My mother in law gave me mine for a wedding present 15 years ago, and with all the baking I do, it's finally getting time to replace it. Thinking my next one is going to be a Pretty Pink one! Whatcha think??

Hope you all have a great day! Until next time! xo Christine
