Follow Friday #31: Having Fun in the Summertime

Happy Fri-Yay! I'm so happy you came to visit me today! As busy as a week  as it's been here with Back to School, my children are finally all settled in. I'm back to finishing up painting a couple of projects that have been in the works. This weekend, I would like to finish one of them. Also this weekend, a new natural foods store is opening in Scottsdale, and I am going to the Grand Opening as well as get my haircut, and attend my first Milk Painting class. I am so glad it's Friday, I'm really looking forward to this weekend!

For Follow Fridays from now on, I will be featuring 4 different blogs, one cooking/baking, one gardening, one décor/style, and one crafting

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter S'Mores Skillet Cookie from FreshMommy

Ok, I like S'mores, and the fun, fond memories of camping and roasting marshmallows over a campfire, BUT I love dark chocolate, and peanut butter. Better still, making S'mores at home!

Hanging Garden Basket via A Beautiful Mess

I've seen these baskets, so many times, they've been calling to me, everytime I pass them when I'm at HomeGoods, but didn't know where to put them or how to use them. What a clever idea to use them as Hanging gardening baskets.

Follow Friday #28: Hot in the Summertime

Happy Fri-YAY! How has your week been? I am so happy it is Friday, because I am so ready for the weekend! The girls and I are getting excited about their tea party, and my son is counting down the days until his birthday! Where does time go? One day I'm holding them in my arms, then I blink, open my eyes and they are getting jobs, driving cars, and going off to college. My littlest one, tells me she'll live next door to me, when she grows up, so that she'll never leave me! *sniff* I tell you, she really knows the way to her momma's heart!

For Follow Fridays from now on, I will be featuring 4 different blogs, one cooking/baking, one gardening, one décor/style, and one crafting.

Follow Friday #26: The 4 P's: Peanutbutter cups, Pink, Purple, and Patriotic

Happy Fri-YAY! How has your week been? From one week to the next I am always surprised how everything goes around here. Last week, was a blur, and then this week, because of the heat wave we are having, all we tried to do was stay out of the heat, and just relaxed; reading, we made more ice cream, day dreaming of a few projects! Wish we were traveling this week, except something unexpected came up. For those of you that are, I wish you safe travels. Then, I was thinking of going up North to visit my family, but we are going to visit for the 4th, so now it looks like I am going to get a little crafty this weekend!

For Follow Fridays from now on, I will be featuring 4 different blogs, one cooking/baking, one gardening, one décor/style, and one crafting.

Kiss My Aster

Oh my goodness, she's a hoot! She's an author, and has blogged for Fine Gardening, Proven Winners and Horticulture magazines. A word in advance, her language may offend some, but to me she's fun and sassy, and she really knows her garden stuff!

Honey Bear Lane

This is a new blog for me, and what caught my attention are her recent 3 posts; Habitat for Humanity, 10 Painting Hacks, and Summer Taco party, all of these peaked my interest. She also, blogs about creating with kids and has some very beautiful home décor DIYs.

Follow Friday 24: Summertime Fun

Happy Friday! Hope your week has been going well!! What a week we've had, we went from triple digits of 108F earlier this week, to today it's pouring down rain with thunder and lightening! Crazy Arizona weather! This week, I've been busy getting ready for my father in law's birthday which is actually today, and my brother's birthday, tomorrow, and we are celebrating on Sunday! I finished getting my gallery art wall up, and Nana's table all set up in the Great room. It's been awhile since, I mentioned finishing up the decorating for the One Room Challenge, although I didn't finish in six weeks, it's coming along nicely. More pictures coming soon! Yesterday, I picked up my first bunch of Peonies at Trader Joes, and I am swooning over all their pink, prettiness, with their flirty ruffles, and sweet fragrance! Simply beautiful!

For Follow Fridays from now on, I will be featuring 4 different blogs, one cooking/baking, one gardening, one décor/style, and one crafting.

Raspberry-Rhubarb Pie by JavaCupcake

Summertime brings back memories of dinners at my great-grandaunt's house. She would always make root beer floats for me and my brother, and she'd always make a rhubarb pie, something I have never made. Which is on my list to make this year!

Framed Summer Fun List by StephanieLynn

We'll be on mission to find some Fireflies to catch! I can check off quite a few on the list. This would also make a great printable or chalkboard art!

Friday Follow 22: The Fab Four

Happy almost weekend! Hope your week has been going well! This week has been full of end of the year events for the girls' school. Lindsay had a Cinco de Mayo party, there is a talent show to get ready for, and today I'm off to see a play about Pirates and Princesses in Lindsay's class. Then tomorrow it's up to Prescott to visit my family for Mother's Day and to celebrate my Grandmother's Birthday; she will be 88. Looking forward to this visit as my family from California, is also going to be there, and it's been about 2 years since I've seen them last!

I'm doing something a little different today. A couple days ago, as I am watching the girls play outside, I looked down at a page in a magazine, and it was featuring 4 different types of blogs, gardening, cooking/baking, decorating/style, and crafting. That is what I have been trying to attempt to bring the most inspiration to you, and I knew I was missing something. With my past Friday Follows, they have been mostly about decorating, with a few DIYs and Baking thrown in, but I wanted to showcase more of what I think you would love.

I am always reminded how the little things can be just as, or even more important than the bigger qualities. In a blog, the most important quality that grabs me at first are the photographs, then the writing.  There are times, when a simple thing, such as a tag line, pulls me in or a blog title. I simply love her tagline and that she dedicates part of her blog to cooking with children.

Gaby Burger's blog is one of the first blogs, I started reading. I think it's her photography that drew me in. She posts about not just out fits, but DIYs and Cooking too.

Growing up, I always admired my Great-Grandmother, and her two sisters, they had a real passion for embroidery! If I find some of their pieces this weekend at my grandmother's, I will share them with you. Karen Barbe, brought those memories back to me! I can see her passion for creating these artisanal piece works. She also has a good tip for creating photo collages on Instagram!
