A Week in CASL Photos: September 21st- 27th

Happy Monday! Hope you all had relaxing weekends!
I enjoyed mine by planting some bushes out in the back yard,
crafting with Lindsay, and more Fall decorating,
(it was more like Halloween decorating)! I can already tell,
October is going to be a fun and busy month!
What I like about doing a Photo365, is that I get to share with you a peek into what my week has been like, and possibly a sneak peek to what next week will bring. I've tried 365 Photo or Daily photo memes several times before, and surprisingly, I am getting farther posting my photos once a week, instead of once a day. It makes a big difference, and it's really nice to look back and see a slice of my day!
This week was a fun week, with Colors for prompts!

September 21st- Red....Love Red peppers and Apples, just to snack on.
They are so delicious and sweet!

September 22nd- Orange...I love the fiery Orange of leaves when they change color in the Fall. This is a sneak peek of what's on my porch!

September 23rd- Yellow....I am not sure how many times I have walked into the office at my son's school, and never noticed these, stunning yellow bromelaids.

September 24th- Green....Hello, Green Pumpkin! This is one of the pumpkins in my Mother's Garden. Mine were doing fine, surviving through the heat, until Monsoon season struk, and the humidity just suffocated them.

September 25th- Blue...Blue ironstone tea cup! I love Blue and White patterns! This one is a Johnson Bros "Coaching Scene"! Think I will have a cuppa tea!

September 26th- Pink..Such a gorgeous pink color for an Orchid!

September 27th- Rainbow... I'm sad to see this week go...I had fun playing with the prompts! I took this picture on our trip to Vegas in 2013 The Chihuly Chandelier in the Bellagio.

A Week in CASL photos: August 17th- August 23rd

Happy Monday! Hope you all had relaxing weekends!
I enjoyed mine getting caught in a early afternoon monsoon,
while shopping for antiques up North!
It was incredibly cool and refreshing!
I told my children to run around in the rain.
You know your from Arizona, when
we actually like doing things in the rain,
and did it pour!
I'll give you more of an update on my visit up to Prescott, later this week!
What I like about doing a Photo365, is that I get to share with you a peek into what my week has been like, and possibly a sneak peek to what next week will bring. August 17th-Inside...Sweet juicy ruby red gems of a pomegranate!

August 18th- Logo....I only bake with C&H Sugar

August 19th- Hat....She is my little diva! Love my 'Lil Lindsay!

August 20th- Surprise-...My daughter got a real surprise when she found out that these
Glazed Lemon Zucchini muffins had vegetables in them!

August 21st- Starts with M....My daughter Marissa, and her dog his name starts with M!

August 22nd- Pathway....My favorite pathway would lead me to relaxation, and this one just happens to be
leading me to the beach!

August 23rd- Lighting...On our trip up to Prescott, I found this 1920's Pan Style Light fixture at the Antique Store. How gorgeous is this with it's original etched glass light globes and ornate embellishments?!

A Week in CASL photos: August 10th- August 16th

Happy Monday! Hope you all had relaxing weekends! I enjoyed mine yesterday, doing one of the things I love best, besides spending time with my family, is reading. When I was younger, I was very much like my father, and always had a book in my hand. I took the girls to a second hand bookstore, and while they browsed the children and young adult or pre-teen section, I browsed through the magazines, and it amazes me to find new editions, that someone just turns in, that still have their cover on them. I can scoop these up, half off.

There is a sitting chair, just outside the children's section, where I settled myself in to get some reading time in. My pre-teen daughter, got a little sassy with me, and told me that I wasn't really reading, that they were just magazines.

It struck me, that while there is some truth to it, there is a level of difference between content articles, and fictional novels, and at the same time, there can be a ton of information to be found in magazines. I'm still reading words, but to her reading, and for me as well, would pull us into them. I found through the years raising my children, that I didn't have the time I used to spend reading a book, and I guess you could say I got frustrated when I HAD to put a book down, because there were more pressing matters to attend too, like cooking and folding laundry, shopping, and mopping floors. I agree, an hour of quiet time, could be fit in at some point of my day, but by the end of the day, I found that I would either read the same sentence over twenty times, or I couldn't even keep my eyes open to read one single word.

That was until I thumbed through my first magazine. Not just for all the gorgeous photography, but the colors and stories about travel destinations, world renowned gardens and restuarants, recipes from Fine Dining chefs, or even reading simple life hacks. Hey I've got to save some time some where!!Where am I going with this, you may ask? Well I'll tell you! My intentions, on writing this blog, are not the same as I had for my other blog, which was to share my experiences in not only motherhood, but taking care of my son with special needs, and to connect with other mothers as well. In a way, I started writing this blog, to share with anyone who took the time to come visit me, to offer, just what I was looking for.....Inspiration, and that same connection with bloggy friends!

Would you believe me, if I told you, besides magazines, I search Pinterest and all of your lovely blogs, just to figure out the answer to that old question....Hmmmm....What's going to be for dinner tonight, or what should I make for the perfect dessert to take to a family get together or birthday party, etc.. And then I see your posts, and once again I am thankful for this awesome blogging community!! A heartfelt Thank you to all of you for not only for taking the time to visit me, but your comments as well.

Normally, I would have written a separate post for the beginning of this one, but I thought it tied in with what's going on in my week, and so I just combined the two.

What I like about doing a Photo365, is that I get to share with you a peek into what my week has been like, and possibly a sneak peek to what next week will bring. News...It's looking like Fall! Fall magazines are out on the news stands!
Aren't these ceramic bowls gorgeous?!

Perfect...What could be more perfect to start the day, then fresh homemade blueberry muffins and a cup of tea?!

Technology....It's funny to think, that I grew up in a time, with recorders and land lines, that if anyone needed to reach my family, they could just leave a message. Now I carry my phone everywhere with me, and I feel so lost with out it! On the positive, I never get lost anymore with GPS, and I always have a camera readily available!

Beautiful....I have always found Stargazer Lilies to be the most beautiful of all the Lilies!

Shadows...My two girls side by side...

A Week in CASL photos: Back to School

Happy Monday! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! It's Back to School day, and it wouldn't be an official Back to School without a few surprises, and I'm happy to say, that my children made it off to school, with only a couple of hitches. My son's bus, last year it was at 6:40am this year it's 6:30am, my son and I disagreed on the time, and I said I would admit I was wrong if it came at 6:40am. Was I wrong?? No, BUT the bus driver kept driving, he completely missed his stop, so all the kids that were waiting for the bus ran home, and I ended up taking my son.

My 7th grader starts school at 9am this year, and wanted me to take her. In the announcements on the school's website, it said school started at 8:30am. WHAT, my 4th grader starts at 8:30am, How am I supposed to be in two places at once????
I really wanted to help my 7th grader on the first day to find all her classes. She will take the bus tomorrow, so it won't be an issue, but on the first day I just took her early, and then dropped my 4th grader off almost as the bell rang. I am not one who likes to be running late, I like to be 10-15 minutes early, just in case. I am excited to find out and hear all about their first days and see how everything went!

Josh's first class is an engineering and architectural class, his counselor thought he'd enjoy it. It's funny, because he really was looking forward to having the culinary class. I might end up switching him, so we'll see. Lindsay's pic didn't turn out that good, so I'm going to try again later and update.

Trash- These used to be pieces of left over wood scraps, that I had my husband make these carved fleur de lis.

Words- Since being not only a Monday and the first day of  School, and I am on my 3rd or 4th cup of coffee today!

via

Fiction- I found this old book up at my Grandmother's. Her mother, who I never met gave it to her! There are a couple of my favorite stories and movies.

I bought it- Here is one of the Miss Mustard Seed milk paint colors I bought over the weekend!
This one is 'Arabesque'. It is a warm and soft neutral pink color. It's not as feminine pink as I was looking for. The other two colors are 'Ironstone' and 'Tricycle'. Updates to come soon.

A Week in CASL photos: July 20th- July 26th

Happy Beautiful Monday! Hope you all had a relaxing weekend! It was a very busy, fun and lovely weekend over here! There is still more getting ready for back to school
and painting going on over here! I didn't get a chance to capture all of this week's prompts, but here are the ones I did!

What I like about doing a Photo365, is that I get to share with you a peek into what my week has been like, and possibly a sneak peek to what next week will bring. July 21st~ Real...

Easy Homemade Pizza Bianco  The girls and I had a blast making homemade pizzas last week. They made pepperoni of course, and for me and my husband, this wonderful Pizza Bianco. It's easier than you think!!

July 22nd~ Fake

I would love to try and grow these 'Blue Orchids', but based on what I've read the roots are injected with blue dye, and are way overpriced! That they are basically white orchids, tinted blue! They are still gorgeous!

July 24th~ Bloom

'Luscious' rose
Here is the first bloom, from the first rose bush, in our new garden. I found it at Berridge Nurseries located in Phoenix. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful indeed. With it being late in the year, finding roses is a challenge. At the nursery, there was still an unbelievable selection of potted roses, with many favorites. In January, the selection will be even more extensive. I'm looking forward to getting my next rose in January from them.

July 25th~ The Two of Us...

A fun day of Back to School shopping with the girls.

July 26th~ Clouds on Fire

One of the things I love most about living here in Arizona, are the incredible sunsets we have.
This was one of the prettiest I've seen. Others have had dark shades of purple, and fuschia.

July 14th- Chaos- I waited for this storm all week, and while Chandler to the North and 15 miles South of us, enjoyed all the rain, I only saw about less than 10 minutes worth...But I did enjoy the 20 degree drop in temperature, even 90F with a cool breeze felt comfortable!

friendly!

A Week in CASL photos x 2: June 29- July 13

Happy Beautiful Monday! Hope you all had a relaxing weekend!

Today is an exciting day around here, it's my son's 15th Birthday! He wants to bowl and watch Jurassic World with his friends, and then we're having a nice family dinner together! Having three sisters, he tends to escape to his room, so it's fun for him to hang out with his friends! If you are interested, here's a post I wrote about him back in 2006: Joshua's Birthday!

The girls and I had our Mad Hatter Tea party which was so much fun, we all had a blast, sipping tea, and eating sweet treats, that they helped me make!
