Friday Follow #15

Happy Friday friends! I hope you had a great week! I'll admit, this week, was the first week back after Spring break, and I don't know how it is Friday already, but it just flew by! Today we have our final walk through in the new house, and either tonight or tomorrow I am going to take the girls to see Cinderella! I don't know who is more excited me or the girls! Yesterday, I spent part of the day pruning rose bushes, transplanting my first rose bush with the help of Hartwood Roses, and at night I made these scrumptious Lemon tassies!

 

I wait all week for this day! Friday Follow's are one of my favorite post, because I hope it helps you to find new and inspiring blogs to follow! Thanks to Pinterest and Instagram their Inspiration gave me so many ideas, with too many being my favorites, that  I would really love to share them all with you. I just don't want to take up all of your time, so here are a couple to spread the love and inspiration!

 

It's hard for me to choose just one thing I like about this photo! The roses and peonies, the antler, the gold chevron lamp shade, the print on the wingback chair, or even the rug! Cassie's blog is full of fun, color and inspiration! I really love her style!

Happy Monday! Thoughts of Spring and the Color Purple

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! It wasn't too busy of a weekend, just doing fun little things! We worked on two small Spring crafts, planted tomato seeds, picked up a couple new pillows for my couch, and got hair cuts. The weather has been pretty nice lately pushing 80F, except for this weekend, winter tried to push back spring with a cold chill and threat of rain. So I'm sitting here drinking my tea, dreaming of Spring!

1. Lilacs

Besides being beautiful, fresh flowers are good luck in your home! I love lilacs. My grandmother has several in her back yard that I am thinking about taking several cuttings and try propagating them this spring!



2. Plum, amethyst, violet, lavender, lilac

While I admit, purple is not one of my favorite colors, I do love how rich, warm and dramatic of a color it is. It is so versatile, from the softest lavender to the brightest violet. Finding all the shades of purple lovely,  I could easily make purple work in my home.

 

For my living room, I would love to mix the jeweled tones of purple and turquoise.

3. Lavender

 

 

Lavender is one thing I don't have a problem growing here in Arizona. One tiny plant can overgrow my garden bed in a year without very little water. For this reason, and many more, for instance it's medicinal properties, the calming effect it has, and  you can bake and craft with lavender, making it one of my all time favorite plants.

4.  Amethyst

 

I can almost feel the spring breeze and smell the fresh air, sitting outdoors on a veranda. Love this monochromatic tablescape in amethyst, from the palest shade of amethyst of the tablecloth to the deepest and brightest shade of the calla lilies and every shade in between with the glassware and vases. Absolutely superb!

5. Blackberry

 

My daughter and I were talking about berries yesterday. She heard that berries help protect us from cancer with their antioxidants.

The things these children are learning at school, amazes me! Wish I was taught that at school, we just knew to ear our fruits and vegetables. 

Since she's allergic to raspberries, she asked me what other berries I liked besides strawberries and I told her I like Blueberries and Blackberries in my smoothies. Aside from foods, I never gave Blackberry a thought about being a shade of purple,  I love to find new inspiration.

 

Again, I love this color pallet, with the jewel tone clors of the kitchen bowls.

This is my Number 1 post so far, and I have to say it was not only easy to create, every time I use it, it seems to give me more inspiration. It's simply lovely and very personable to suit anyone's taste, style and creative mood.

Tablescape Thursday #2 Adventures at Williams and Sonoma

Last weekend, I discovered that Williams and Sonoma has cooking classes for Junior Chefs, and most classes are for ages from 9-13. This is perfect for my daughter Katelyn who loves watching the kids competition on Food Network with Guy Fieri and Rachel Ray. She was thrilled. On this past Saturday, they helped the children make fresh penne pasta, and this delicious Zoodles with Butternut squash sauteed in olive oil with a tiny bit of crushed red pepper. She had fun using a spiralizer for the zuccini. It was a fun way for her to learn and of course for me to browse the store. Isn't this centerpeice lovely? I prefer pumpkin tureens that are white, and the pitcher of wheat adds to the rustic autumn feel of the tablescape.

How rustic and beautiful are these wooden pumpkin napkin rings to go with the pumpkin colored linen napkins!

Continuing on with the rustic autumn feel for the tablescape, I love this wooden charger and the Heirloom Botanical Pumpkin china dinner and salad plates. Off to the side I didn't get a better picture of it, but on a trip to Mexico I tasted stuffed squash blossoms, filled with cheese, and this set of 4/ squash blossom coaster, reminded me of how a simple and pretty a blossom, can add elegance to any dining experience.

In this last shot, there is a better picture of the coasters, and the gorgeous heirloom botanical  pumpkin serving bowl.

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the Zoodles with the butternut squash, but this recipe with Salmon, Pesto and Zoodles with Butternut squash, really inspired me. Pretty sure, I will be making this in the future as soon as I pick up a spiralizer. Does anyone have a Spiralizer, which one should I get?

This table setting is definitely on my list of absolute favorites! Just picture yourself, sitting blissfully by the shoreline. Can't you just feel the ocean breeze and smell the salt air? Simply refreshing. On the table what I love the most is just the way everything is set perfectly, from  the beautiful succulent centerpieces, to the dainty pitcher of lemon water, and how all the food fits on the table. What is not to love about the color turquoise? There has always been a special place in my heart for wooden tables, and the soft blue striped table runner displays it perfectly. Right here is where I would sit and sip my chilled wine, have a fun evening with a couple friends, just enjoying listening and relaxing to the sound of the ocean waves.

I looked online to find the real source for this photo, but couldn't find it, if anyone knows where to find it please let me know. Not to mention the Southern Italian Brie and Chicken sounds delish!!
